The company is India’s largest single-location power cables and conductors manufacturer. It has enhanced its capacity through new aluminum rod mills and is focusing on High-Temperature Low-Sag (HTLS) conductors. In 2022 it was acquired by GSEC Ltd (owned by brother-in-law of Gautam Adani). Since then, it has been benefitting from significant contracts from the Adani group companies catering to the power sector. The Dec quarter has seen significant growth in topline and bottomline. The company posted an EPS of Rs 0.80 for the quarter which also has an exceptional write off of Rs 7 cr barring which EPS would have been at around Rs 1.50. The stock has been one of the better performing ones in the last 6 months and has attracted buying at lower levels. Margins hold the key for the future.
NIFTY –The index closed 100 points up for the week despite a mid-week sell off. With monthly expiry due next week, odds are high that levels of 25700-800 will again be attempted. On the downside 25300-400 should ideally hold.
BANK NIFTY-The index is a relative out-performer and has closed above 61000 for the week. Any upside should see resistance at around 62200 and levels of around 60000 should act as a support.
Are power stocks on a rerating mode?
Power demand is seen surging in the coming years on the back of electrification in the interiors of the country, growing demand for consumer durables, charging stations as well as the data centers which are power guzzlers. On the back of this there is a steady rise in power stocks like Torrent Power, NTPC, Power Grid, etc.
Wishing all readers a great week ahead!
